my momocon vacation-y report

Since i don't really use livejournal anymore, and don't have a personal tumblr... and don't want a wall of text on my dA journal, I shall post a breakdown of my week away in Georgia!

SO! Jack, Dahlia and I leave Kentucky Thursday morning, and we make incredible time and get to Wayah's house about 2 hours earlier than I thought we would! WHOO! Dahlia did really well, which is why we did great time I think...

Wayah made some frikkin' GREAT chili. :0~

friday morning we go have breakfast at this fantastic place called... uh... the sawmill something... lol i can never remember.  they have amazing pancakes!

we get to atlanta at the time we EXPECTED to be able to check-in, but the lady said to wayah that they don't have any rooms open for EARLY check-in and that check-in isn't until 4. AFTER she already checked in 2 people in front of wayah. .... yeah.

so we kill time by driving around and going to a museum. it was a REALLY nice museum! jack really enjoyed the photo exhibit they had... it was some photographer he really admires. wayah and i loved the illustration exhibits.  we also discovered we have the same opinions about picasso. in that we don't like him, lol.

we head back to the hotel to check in and order pizza.  wayah and i walk down to publix to pick up some food stuffs that don't need refridgeration (GA tech hotel doesn't have fridges or microwaves... WHAT? seriously who does that anymore?).  then we go to office depot to pick up cardstock and discover that they closed at 7.  ...?! who does THAT, too?! you close at 7 on a friday in downtown atlanta?! wtf?! after also learning the barnes&noble/student store doesn't have cardstock either we decide to get up early and trek down to office depot again to get stuff before set-up saturday.

SO we get up early. get to office depot. see the security gates are still up... see the hours... they open at 10am on saturday.... but at 8am the rest of the week. ... WHAT. ....?!!!! aaaaghhh! so we decide to just go ahead and set-up like normal and then wayah will head down after.  so we head back to the hotel and decide to have a look-see around the convention area. it's 2 hours before they let anyone in, so there's just staff up there, and surprisingly no one stopped us...! We wander around to the artist alley rooms, where a girl stops us and asks if we are artists. we say yes, and she offers us our badges early! SWEET! she even says we can come in any time to set up if we stay with our table and to have a look around to find our table. THANK GOODNESS they were assigned this year! Last year we had kind of some problems with that :/ we take a look around find we have a really nice corner table wit whiteboards behind them! and discover that our NEMESIS is nowhere to be found in our room! YESSSSSSSS!!!! *happy dance*

The actual con doesn't have very many specific events as we are behind a table all day both days. It was my first time selling anything this way and was very proud of the response i got! I was expecting a lot less. Wayah also did very well on the first day! well, saturday IS the busier day, crazy amounts of people! I even sold OUT of a little aceo print of L from deathnote! whoo!

I also got an awesome commission done for a girl who requested Thom Yorke dancing a la "lotus flower". Needless to say, I was super stoked for such a rad request.

It was super fun, and really inspiring. I really want to do more cons now.  I'm looking into more :3

There were a TON of FANTASTIC lolitas this year! I wanted to follow them around all day haha. so cute! A lot of neat cosplays that i didn't expect to see either! like beat and yo-yo from jet set radio, or a dragon from how to train your dragon, and my little ponies!

Truly, i Love momocon and i love spending nearly a week hanging out with wayah. and her cute animals and delicious southern food places. omnomnomnom.

We also went to the atlanta ZOOOOO. and saw TIGERS AND PANDAS AND SUN BEARS AND  A TANUKI. :D

We also stayed an extra day at Wayah's house and were able to go see RANGO. which was fantastic! :0~! it was beautifully done and such a cute story and ANIMALSSSSssSSSsssSSssss....ss...s....! It was also Dahlia's first movie! She did rather well, but started freaking out when she ran out of popcorn x__x

But now that this is all over i am sad. I don't want to go back to work :C i want to stay at a con all day.

well. there's always another con :P

Some naruto pins

Here is an example of my upcycled manga pins! They are made by cutting out actual manga books, and put together in my button machine. I think these pins are really fun and I can't wait to make enough of them to take to a craft show or convention sometime soon! I've got to get some packaging and finishing work done soon as well.... Hmmmm...

Hello world!

Here I will also tell you about my new easy adventures and most likely offer contests, prizes and discounts to followers of my mighty blog.

Let's see how long I can go this time ....!
